Why Use Technology in the Classroom?

Integrating technology into the classroom is aimed to best serve the needs and interests of the students. The use of technology is not just to expose students to the new technologies available, but encourage students to critically analyze the world and think in new, creative ways. Schools must keep pace and stay relevant with our rapidly changing world to keep students engaged, and equip them with the tools necessary to succeed.

Queen Victoria is a school of the future, educating the leaders of tomorrow.

Parent/Guardian Websites

The best place you can go online for additional information and news concerning your child's education is the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board website. Pay special attention to the parent resource tab on the top left side of the homepage.

The Ontario Ministry of Education website also has a parents tab on its homepage which links to a variety of useful information and resources to support your child's learning. Specific curriculum expectations for every subject can be found here.

Welcome!

Welcome parents and students to Ms. Ritz's grade 6 classroom blog. The aim of this website is to utilize technology as a teaching tool, and allow students to be digitally connected to their learning.

This website will allow students and parents to stay up-to-date with the happenings in the classroom, and link to useful resources related to what is being learned at school.

This blog is maintained by Miss Turple, a Brock University teacher candidate specializing in education technology, working alongside Ms. Ritz.
